<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I <span style="font-size: x-large;">LOVE</span> capturing my children's hand prints. A few years ago, my friend <a href="http://www.kitchenkeepsake.com/">Suzanne</a>, who just so happens to be Jewish;) gave me this super cute idea for a Christmas tree skirt. It's made with one hand print from each of my children each year. It is so neat to see how they've grown each year as we pull it back out. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nwvgldonSfI/VJhNh65RNEI/AAAAAAAADcM/TOqzHOpmrL0/s1600/handprintTREEskirt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nwvgldonSfI/VJhNh65RNEI/AAAAAAAADcM/TOqzHOpmrL0/s1600/handprintTREEskirt.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I use gold acrylic paint from the craft store. I don't worry about keeping it the same exact shade (manufacturer) from year to year as I mix up the hand print spacing anyway. The kids are expert hand print makers by now so this project only takes me a few minutes at the beginning of each season. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y3pngQuTx74/VJhPV55GmpI/AAAAAAAADcc/ZB2Kp8l_cLk/s1600/IMG_7065.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Y3pngQuTx74/VJhPV55GmpI/AAAAAAAADcc/ZB2Kp8l_cLk/s1600/IMG_7065.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tFGRRzi5guQ/VJhPWhUH3kI/AAAAAAAADcs/0C2SyrHzc3M/s1600/IMG_7089.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-tFGRRzi5guQ/VJhPWhUH3kI/AAAAAAAADcs/0C2SyrHzc3M/s1600/IMG_7089.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A chunky paintbrush makes paint application quick and tickely for extra fun;) Simply paint the hand, press it onto the skirt, and carefully lift off so the print doesn't smear.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H6oQCykFoDk/VJhPW4KbP6I/AAAAAAAADc0/qUmLGP3ivQ4/s1600/IMG_7091.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-H6oQCykFoDk/VJhPW4KbP6I/AAAAAAAADc0/qUmLGP3ivQ4/s1600/IMG_7091.jpg" height="266" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then, use a paint pen to mark the child's initial and year. Voila! </div>
<br />
<br /><span style="font-size: large;">Merry Christmas!</span><br />

I'm thrilled to be back over at <a href="http://www.backporchmemories.blogspot.com/">Back Porch Memories</a> this month working with their Medley Kit. The December kit includes a wide variety of papers and embellishments from Teresa Collins, My Mind's Eye and Fancy Pants.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5Ut67t5DdxI/VI3NwmaKFPI/AAAAAAAADbI/icDOB0rYomI/s1600/AdventCalBPMkmc.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-5Ut67t5DdxI/VI3NwmaKFPI/AAAAAAAADbI/icDOB0rYomI/s1600/AdventCalBPMkmc.jpg" height="400" width="393" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This layout is based on the sketch at <a href="http://www.backporchmemories.com/">BPM</a> this month. I love the bright, fun colors! I fussy cut some of the papers and used a border punches on others. I used my Cricut to cut the deer, love how majestic they look. I am staying current on Christmas layouts for the first time in YEARS! These photos are from THIS year. YAY! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xDucPYGkrh8/VI3NwkTqzHI/AAAAAAAADbA/R6emiExzd-4/s1600/ChickenFeederBPMkmc.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-xDucPYGkrh8/VI3NwkTqzHI/AAAAAAAADbA/R6emiExzd-4/s1600/ChickenFeederBPMkmc.jpg" height="400" width="295" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
With some of my kit scraps I wrapped up our chicken feeder candy dispenser. Whipped this out in 10 minutes, even with border punching and machine stitching. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xNf9i6AKt8c/VI3NwtHeS0I/AAAAAAAADbE/6kaVFOOwWLo/s1600/DecemberBPMkmc.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-xNf9i6AKt8c/VI3NwtHeS0I/AAAAAAAADbE/6kaVFOOwWLo/s1600/DecemberBPMkmc.jpg" height="397" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This layout is my first go at a gallery wall layout. I just adore this type of layout. This page starts off my 2014 Christmas album. See, told you I was keeping up this year! It features some, not all, {my children let me know} of our favorite traditions during December. Seriously though, we have LOTS of traditions, waaaaay too many for one page so I told them this is just a teaser for the rest of the album. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
To create the layout I used the Teresa Collins Tinsel & Company goodies that came in my <a href="http://www.backporchmemories.com/">Back Porch Memories kit</a>. I cut the center out of the back paper "frame" to use in other projects and then I trimmed the background paper to fit. Next I cut the frames using both my Cricut and Cameo. I cut the title with the Cameo using white cardstock but it just didn't have the look I wanted. So I gave the title and some of the frames a bit of shine using embossing powder. Then I went to town placing my chipboard and sequins. After I got them all placed in the spot I wanted them to go in, I used a little gold acrylic paint on a few of them, just for a bit of extra shine. I added sequins to the chipboard tree as it was silver and for balance I wanted it gold. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I've got a couple more layouts using my kit and some SUPER CUTE photos to share with you soon.</div>
<br />
Happy Holidays!<br />

It is really hard for me to believe that my baby boy is already 7 years old. It seems like time increases in speed each and every day. Sigh.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As his birthday approached I went to search in his scrapbook for the layout I did of him wearing his 5 shirt and his 6 shirt. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VhgHFEgT4Sk/VGJ1tCQvPII/AAAAAAAADaI/YCJUfaQG1gs/s1600/5to6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="380" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-VhgHFEgT4Sk/VGJ1tCQvPII/AAAAAAAADaI/YCJUfaQG1gs/s400/5to6.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I couldn't find it anywhere. Then I remembered that the layout had been called for publication last spring in one of the Northridge Publications magazines. Exciting at the time but somewhat devastating now as I have received neither compensation nor my project back. I know something odd is going on at Northridge but they have <span style="font-size: small;">TEN</span> of my projects, three of them precious layouts of my children and I so want them back.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
However, I have come to the sad realization that I may not ever get them back. So today, I scraplifted my 5 to 6 layout while also following a sketch from Back Porch Memories.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ejRuBrkclHk/VGJ1qUPAqlI/AAAAAAAADZ4/LXFjKgCrOeY/s1600/6to7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ejRuBrkclHk/VGJ1qUPAqlI/AAAAAAAADZ4/LXFjKgCrOeY/s400/6to7.jpg" width="397" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used the Walnut Grove line of papers from Pebbles, love this line!<br />
I've seen shadowboxes everywhere lately so I wanted to try my hand at it. So fun! I used my Sizzix and the Hearts die to cut both chipboard and cardstock. I layered them together and topped the stack with a piece of acetate cut from the temporary license plate holder off my oldest son's car. (Serious upcycling!) Then I topped it with a red piece of cardstock, filled it with some square sequins and closed the back with an orange die cut of the large heart. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vpUuM15YmbQ/VGJ1rjzu5pI/AAAAAAAADaA/zvN1nB_0Eps/s1600/6to7shadowbox.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="275" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-vpUuM15YmbQ/VGJ1rjzu5pI/AAAAAAAADaA/zvN1nB_0Eps/s400/6to7shadowbox.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I make him a new shirt every year using my
Cricut and some Pellon. <a href="http://lotstoscrap.blogspot.com/2013/11/how-to-create-your-own-iron-ons-using.html">(Click here for a tutorial)</a> I've used a bit of the extra fabric on both of the layouts just to give them that extra sentimental touch. I also used the same arrow stamp from Maya Road that I used on the 5 to 6 layout. I feel like I recreated a little of it in this new layout while adding some of my current favorites: twine clusters, wood veneer hearts and sequins. <br />
<br />
So far he loves the shirts but I know the age when he
won't is coming. And coming quickly. So I'm enjoying every moment right now!</div>

It is still hard for me to believe that I have a child in high school. Two? Oh. Yeah, I mean TWO young men in high school. Sigh. I do remember my mom telling me that time would fly, boy was she right!<br />
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-elcgLvpgEG0/UuBs9SaOasI/AAAAAAAADTc/gByG4ok2Wmc/s1600/HelloHS.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-elcgLvpgEG0/UuBs9SaOasI/AAAAAAAADTc/gByG4ok2Wmc/s1600/HelloHS.jpg" height="400" width="387" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So, my freshman was kind enough to let me snap a quick photo of him setting his locker up. Then I took a photo of <span style="font-size: xx-small;">little tiny him</span> in front of <span style="font-size: x-large;">great big school</span>. That bottom photo pretty much sums it all up for me. Sigh.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The supplies for this layout are out my GDT kit from <a href="http://www.backporchmemories.com/">Back Porch Memories</a>. The line is Notable from We R Memory Keepers. LOVE.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
Ahhhhh, back to babies. This is my dear, sweet, little baby girl last winter enjoying the snow. She must have been FREEZING but she never stopped smiling or enjoying the winter wonderland in our very own backyard. Supplies are MORE {can you believe how much they squeeze into the kits?} out of my GDT kit from BPM. This line is Fancy Pants' Timbergrove. Swoon.</div>

As you may notice from these photos, I <span style="font-size: large;">still</span> have a Christmas tree up...having a little trouble letting the season go this year. Strange, I am usually VERY ready to put it all away come the New Year. Hmmmm, not sure what this means.</div>

Check back soon for a super simple tutorial on how I made the background paper for my "Snow Day" layout. In the meantime, take a peek at these magazines out this month, I have a few fun projects featured in them;)</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Phew, that is quite a title. I guess I am worn out from the holidays, the creative titles just aren't coming to me;).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Let me begin by wishing you a very Happy New Year! We stayed up with the littles this year and so are still recovering a bit. Here they are at 11:16 New Year's Eve:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZnUNOS57Me0/UsceV3bpKPI/AAAAAAAADRM/3iJuyWAEDWs/s1600/HNY.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZnUNOS57Me0/UsceV3bpKPI/AAAAAAAADRM/3iJuyWAEDWs/s400/HNY.jpg" width="393" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
You might notice that Nikolas is missing. He left for a party earlier in the evening. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_lH_SLuYm5E/UscenpxODKI/AAAAAAAADRU/TusDHBgdZi4/s1600/Nhny.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_lH_SLuYm5E/UscenpxODKI/AAAAAAAADRU/TusDHBgdZi4/s400/Nhny.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I knew this day would come. I also knew I would never be ready for it. I must admit that I did shed a tear or two but I know I need to let him spread his wings. Still. It was our first official holiday where we did not celebrate it all together. Sigh.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*************</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Moving right along, I have some exciting news! I am guest designing over at Back Porch Memories this month. It feels so nice to dip my toe back into designing with a team again. The group over there is fantastic and I have really enjoyed getting to know them. I have a sneak peek at the Medley kit I am playing with this month:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nYXquTG2zaI/UscfhMiI8WI/AAAAAAAADR0/86M8pALVCD8/s1600/b.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="396" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-nYXquTG2zaI/UscfhMiI8WI/AAAAAAAADR0/86M8pALVCD8/s400/b.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Nf8vaZsThCM/UscfhCJP_SI/AAAAAAAADR4/N5Bj969OntA/s1600/bcu1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="371" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Nf8vaZsThCM/UscfhCJP_SI/AAAAAAAADR4/N5Bj969OntA/s400/bcu1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6OcwPDSfSro/UscfhL_Jm9I/AAAAAAAADRw/EOIk6fNEjfw/s1600/Bcu.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-6OcwPDSfSro/UscfhL_Jm9I/AAAAAAAADRw/EOIk6fNEjfw/s400/Bcu.jpg" width="398" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have been running both my Cricut and my Cameo in overdrive cutting lately. For this layout I cut feathers, arrows, leaves and corn. I used both embossing and distress ink to give the cornstalk some texture and depth. I created the cornstalk in <a href="http://www.cricut.com/home/craftroom">Cricut Craft Room</a> using the Just Because Cards cartridge. Originally it had only one ear of corn but with a couple quick clicks I gave it three. If you have a Cricut and you haven't tried CCR, I highly recommend it.<br />
I just love the look of autumn layouts with TONS of distressing, hence my paper edges in this layout. I am also really loving layering these days. Perhaps I feel like my stash is large enough to indulge in it a bit;). The Medley kit from Back Porch Memories has tons of papers and is filled with all sorts of great little embellishments. I have three more layouts in progress and even a couple of cards! It you are up for a game-challenge, I am hosting Bingo at BPM this month:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-A4weRVe4a44/UschOD3CfsI/AAAAAAAADSQ/pWpKTc1d3Hk/s1600/BingoBPM-page-001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-A4weRVe4a44/UschOD3CfsI/AAAAAAAADSQ/pWpKTc1d3Hk/s400/BingoBPM-page-001.jpg" width="307" /></a> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Simply complete a layout including each item in any row or column and load it into the gallery at BPM. That's it. {You don't even have to use a kit} Each entry earns you a spot in the grand prize drawing at the end of the month. I'd love to have you join me. For details, come visit us on the <a href="http://www.backporchmemories.com/">Back Porch</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
********************</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Lastly, I am giving Project Life a try this year. I have debated this undertaking for a couple of years now. I actually bought my kit in July. I thought that might be enough time for me to learn enough about how to do it, how to stay organized and especially how to stay motivated. I used a similar format for my December Daily (almost completed...) just for some practice. And now, (imagine drumroll please) <b><span style="font-size: large;">my cover page</span></b>:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-esFKM8rIPIY/Uscictzss5I/AAAAAAAADSc/fd4hJyZ6cKc/s1600/PLTitlePage.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-esFKM8rIPIY/Uscictzss5I/AAAAAAAADSc/fd4hJyZ6cKc/s400/PLTitlePage.jpg" width="393" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Off and scrapping! </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
In December I bought myself a sweet little weekly calendar so I could keep notes and such. You know, stay super organized so I wouldn't forget any details or lose any memorabilia... Well, I went to pull it out on Wednesday to make an entry about the bonfire we had in the backyard and would you believe it!?!?! LOST. Really? Is that how 2014 is gonna go? I just kept calm and took my dad to Target where he promptly bought me a new one. (He doesn't know about the lost one...ssshhhh).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
May you have a healthy, happy and scrappy New Year!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

It's Actually Working! <a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/1994997/?claim=aszf9aj7q6k">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a><br />
<br />
So I decided to try a holiday mini-album again. Not sure WHY I do this in such a small format when I have such a large family. And NOT daily, I just can't take the pressure. But nonetheless a holiday mini that I try to keep up with throughout the season and that I try to use to include the little things that go on in life during the holidays. What I really love about this year's album is that I am giving the Project Life style a trial run before I try to tackle it for 2014. So far, it is actually working pretty well! Of course, I still have a long way to go but here is what I have so far:<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
As you can see, I start with finished pages and end up with newborn foundation pages that have no embellishments whatsoever. Yet.<br />
Still, it's a great start for me and I am really enjoying the process. I love to give new things a try in mini-albums. I am learning to use my new Cameo that my mom and my mom-in-law got me for my birthday (thanks Mom and Mary!) I made a sequin pocket that I love and will definitely do again, I've toyed with some overlays that turned out well and of course, I used my Cricut to make some cards and pages from the Edge to Edge cart.<br />
<br />
Hope this finds you all enjoying the season!<br />

<span style="font-size: large;">Thanksgiving?</span> <span style="font-size: x-large;">Next week?</span> I'm not sure if it was the odd weather we had this summer or the trees changing colors so late this year but I am feeling really...well, like the "baby" looked on her 2 year old photo shoot yesterday:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bM1J9Pss_Aw/Uo1hERhCsKI/AAAAAAAADNI/8945jgXRwkU/s1600/IMG_0930.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bM1J9Pss_Aw/Uo1hERhCsKI/AAAAAAAADNI/8945jgXRwkU/s400/IMG_0930.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have done NOTHING to prepare. No menu, no shopping. But like Scarlett says, "I'll think about that tomorrow." Except I really mean it. Thank goodness for scrapbook pages of holiday tables and that scrappy recipe book in my kitchen. And thanks, especially, for my mom, who still manages to do half the work for the Thanksgiving meal. At least I know we will have the turkey defrosted (I loathe that process) and mashed potatoes at the table.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So tomorrow not only am I gonna have to plan and shop for Thanksgiving, I might even try to squeeze in photo shoot #2 since my subject was more interested in blowing the "wishers" than posing for portraits...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-L-3Kk9HpdZQ/Uo1iPK8ssjI/AAAAAAAADNY/1DCwqXkSA_Y/s1600/owl1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-L-3Kk9HpdZQ/Uo1iPK8ssjI/AAAAAAAADNY/1DCwqXkSA_Y/s400/owl1.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SDeoRHu6mvU/Uo1iO7tYZ3I/AAAAAAAADNU/qAGCbqt0A0w/s1600/owl3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SDeoRHu6mvU/Uo1iO7tYZ3I/AAAAAAAADNU/qAGCbqt0A0w/s400/owl3.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And then she just up and ran off. I let my photo assistant catch her for me.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XqA79G56L2E/Uo1iR6cnQZI/AAAAAAAADNk/tAaFUw0yR8M/s1600/owl4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XqA79G56L2E/Uo1iR6cnQZI/AAAAAAAADNk/tAaFUw0yR8M/s400/owl4.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
However, all was not lost. I did manage to catch this sweet look right after we got back from ice skating lessons for my homeschooler.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I'm pretty happy with this one...Love her smile and the fact that we just popped out of the van, onto the front lawn and captured this with one snap of the camera. ONE. I'm trying to give myself a break...at least I am finally shooting in full manual.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Cricut</span> Iron-Ons</span>. <span style="font-size: x-large;">From Fabric</span>. So EASY. So fun and so <span style="font-size: large;">FAST</span>!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I wanted to hide this cluttered look. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-msuaNej2hBQ/Uo1YRjwoUAI/AAAAAAAADM4/qP5MnjBIm8w/s1600/aa.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-msuaNej2hBQ/Uo1YRjwoUAI/AAAAAAAADM4/qP5MnjBIm8w/s400/aa.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So a few months ago I made a cover for my sewing machine from canvas and scraps of fabric along with some Jenni Bowlin buttons. I had always planned on decorating the middle but I'm just now getting around to actually doing it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FuxkV5St5OQ/Uo1YNm1hdVI/AAAAAAAADLE/EyGu7kiCWAM/s1600/a0.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-FuxkV5St5OQ/Uo1YNm1hdVI/AAAAAAAADLE/EyGu7kiCWAM/s400/a0.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I decided to add a simple heart to the middle since I am after all trying to avoid the clutter...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have used my Cricut to make several iron-ons now and so far, so AWESOME. No mistakes, no waste, only success! My favorite project so far has been my "baby" boy's 6 shirt.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Gqf6tJ7ntn0/Uo1k8Ep2tWI/AAAAAAAADN4/pfy6sUu2esY/s1600/ImSix.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Gqf6tJ7ntn0/Uo1k8Ep2tWI/AAAAAAAADN4/pfy6sUu2esY/s400/ImSix.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JUThaVqUJDY/Uo1YNoH93_I/AAAAAAAADLg/g6yG_kzgrm4/s1600/a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JUThaVqUJDY/Uo1YNoH93_I/AAAAAAAADLg/g6yG_kzgrm4/s400/a.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
To make my iron-ons with the Cricut, I use Pellon Heavy-Duty Wonder-Under. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nNZeKXffrK0/Uo1YNtZLTDI/AAAAAAAADLI/opbbgpMD_g8/s1600/a1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="216" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nNZeKXffrK0/Uo1YNtZLTDI/AAAAAAAADLI/opbbgpMD_g8/s400/a1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It is sold from a bolt at your fabric store. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I cut my Wonder-Under to the same size as the fabric. It's sticky once ironed so it's best to keep them close to the same size. I don't go all the way to cutting them together <i>exactly</i> as I have a special piece of broadcloth that I use to protect my iron but I get it as close as I can with the little patience that I do have;).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gqhfxKi6Hoc/Uo1qGmZSehI/AAAAAAAADOI/jNoEDAgMnsw/s1600/a3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-gqhfxKi6Hoc/Uo1qGmZSehI/AAAAAAAADOI/jNoEDAgMnsw/s400/a3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It helps that I have a handy, dandy measuring cover on my ironing board.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_hi2kHcj61o/Uo1YPoZbHUI/AAAAAAAADLw/QQh7M4vlYrY/s1600/a4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-_hi2kHcj61o/Uo1YPoZbHUI/AAAAAAAADLw/QQh7M4vlYrY/s400/a4.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I place my Wonder-Under backed fabric on a clean STICKY mat and press with a brayer. I put my fabric on paper side down. You will see why later;). Oh, and set your blade depth to 6.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JWyJRgG136w/Uo1YQHXMpjI/AAAAAAAADME/TvTKdffIs2Y/s1600/a5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JWyJRgG136w/Uo1YQHXMpjI/AAAAAAAADME/TvTKdffIs2Y/s400/a5.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Speaking of blades, I use a very sharp blade reserved for cutting fabric only. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WG9Lb1oIdh8/Uo1YQB6n-FI/AAAAAAAADMA/Y4ynDrQEYTw/s1600/a6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-WG9Lb1oIdh8/Uo1YQB6n-FI/AAAAAAAADMA/Y4ynDrQEYTw/s400/a6.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once cut, the fabric peels right off, leaving the paper on the sticky mat! Yay, saves the annoying step of peeling that paper off of the fabric.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SDap-bpjGT4/Uo1YQj_T31I/AAAAAAAADMM/ylABhy3HdSk/s1600/a7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-SDap-bpjGT4/Uo1YQj_T31I/AAAAAAAADMM/ylABhy3HdSk/s400/a7.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Just your cut is left...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l1aR47Kp4M4/Uo1YQ3tgYQI/AAAAAAAADMU/rrboqVspCTY/s1600/a8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-l1aR47Kp4M4/Uo1YQ3tgYQI/AAAAAAAADMU/rrboqVspCTY/s400/a8.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And it comes right off, easy peasy.<br />
Now, I have heard that some people like to reverse the image in CCR and place the fabric paper side up. I have never tried this but I imagine that might be the way to go if your cut is more intricate. But I just can't give up the way the mat peels the paper off for me. I am so prone to those little paper cuts under my nails from peeling backings off... </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wonU8bdBgmo/Uo1YRSFsOWI/AAAAAAAADMY/mTBmA3idK9o/s1600/a9.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="248" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-wonU8bdBgmo/Uo1YRSFsOWI/AAAAAAAADMY/mTBmA3idK9o/s400/a9.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Moving on. Before I iron my cut onto my project I always tape my cut in place, to make sure I know just where I want it permanently. Washi tape is perfect for this.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-a1I41NpCnsU/Uo1YOBMdmWI/AAAAAAAADLM/V9qOxHPTMzw/s1600/a10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-a1I41NpCnsU/Uo1YOBMdmWI/AAAAAAAADLM/V9qOxHPTMzw/s400/a10.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then I check the Pellon directions once more...15 seconds or 7 seconds, I always forget which time goes where.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EYckhCGN0kA/Uo1YOOLVeoI/AAAAAAAADLQ/RrYKS5t2MFE/s1600/a11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="283" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-EYckhCGN0kA/Uo1YOOLVeoI/AAAAAAAADLQ/RrYKS5t2MFE/s400/a11.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And done. Well, maybe. I love the look of stitching. Everywhere. Just about all of my cards and scrapbook layouts have some sort of stitching so I went around the heart with a simple zig-zag stitch. I kept it pretty loose as I really wanted to outline the heart in green but none of my thread matched. So I used pink and I'll see if it grows on me. If it doesn't, I'll be able to rip it out and redo it in green.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OnYFrKtDH_U/Uo1YO56heCI/AAAAAAAADL0/95DOVL8WcrM/s1600/a14.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-OnYFrKtDH_U/Uo1YO56heCI/AAAAAAAADL0/95DOVL8WcrM/s400/a14.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uNW1wtM3xk8/Uo1YRRVv0LI/AAAAAAAADM0/hGipiU0V8zc/s1600/a12.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="367" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-uNW1wtM3xk8/Uo1YRRVv0LI/AAAAAAAADM0/hGipiU0V8zc/s400/a12.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aq5kbufL-6M/Uo1YO3ZaalI/AAAAAAAADLY/noO-XhQJERM/s1600/a13.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="272" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-aq5kbufL-6M/Uo1YO3ZaalI/AAAAAAAADLY/noO-XhQJERM/s400/a13.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So there you have it. Simple. This project took me 15 minutes. Start to finish. Yes, really. If I hadn't had to reload my bobbin, it would have be 13 minutes! I hope you give it a shot. If you do, leave a comment and link to your project, I'd love to see it!</div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Summer? Gone? OCTOBER? Gone? Time is slipping by so quickly these days. While I haven't been keeping my blog up to date I have been very busy scrapping, card-making, crafting and even getting published. This month you can find my work in Cricut Magazine, Cricut Idea Book: Families and <span style="font-size: large;"><i>Creating Keepsakes</i></span>. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K1FYRZCbu1Y/UnIsuoMQYoI/AAAAAAAADIw/01Zo3vHkeJo/s1600/CK_NovDec_Cover-125px.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K1FYRZCbu1Y/UnIsuoMQYoI/AAAAAAAADIw/01Zo3vHkeJo/s200/CK_NovDec_Cover-125px.jpg" width="152" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It just breaks my heart that <i>Creating Keepsakes</i> is calling it quits and moving to a digital format but I am SUPER excited to have a darling layout of the baby in the very final paper issue. Check out page 18!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
While I still create primarily layouts, I have delved into card-making a bit. It is so much fun to simply sit down and create with beautiful supplies and not have to worry about photos or journaling. I am keeping them simple for now, but I can see the draw to adding lots of layers...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I used my Cricut to cut out the sentiment on a shipping tag. The dress form is cut from the Wall Decor cart.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-X4mxMXtikeM/UnIw7WJlOyI/AAAAAAAADJo/ySla95gW1fc/s1600/ThanksCard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="277" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-X4mxMXtikeM/UnIw7WJlOyI/AAAAAAAADJo/ySla95gW1fc/s400/ThanksCard.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I finally broke down and ordered a giant lot of seam binding so now I am having lots of fun dyeing it and crinkling it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I need to keep a stash of these cards handy...I am always scrambling to whip one up when I need one.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9EgSHb_V6_s/UnIxIK4n-TI/AAAAAAAADJ4/M24HfxhDf98/s1600/ThankYouCard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9EgSHb_V6_s/UnIxIK4n-TI/AAAAAAAADJ4/M24HfxhDf98/s400/ThankYouCard.jpg" width="348" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
******************</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am absolutely LOVING my <span style="font-size: large;">Cricut</span> these days. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I made this card for my niece, who had her first baby this summer. He is soooo cute! I made the card with my Cricut and the Baby Steps cart, along with the Phrases cart. This one is pretty complicated, mostly because of the little pieces but it is really fun to put together.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-juchv84vivI/UnIxScrWMqI/AAAAAAAADKA/RCr9aSOIbYc/s1600/TylerCard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="336" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-juchv84vivI/UnIxScrWMqI/AAAAAAAADKA/RCr9aSOIbYc/s400/TylerCard.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I whipped up these cute little 3D pumpkins from CCR and decided to cut a few more for the kids to assemble on Thanksgiving. It's that easy!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k2PA1bIbcQE/UnIoirkaOkI/AAAAAAAADIk/Uxmt4Nl9ZoI/s1600/ChevronPumpkins.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-k2PA1bIbcQE/UnIoirkaOkI/AAAAAAAADIk/Uxmt4Nl9ZoI/s320/ChevronPumpkins.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A few days ago...this darling turned 6. Oh, time, why must you speed along? I made him this fun shirt using my Cricut. It is really easy! The hardest part was sewing around the little circle inside the 6, other than that it was a piece of cake. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zlXzidFieik/UnIoZ7j-dNI/AAAAAAAADIc/nLcY0zcDzIk/s1600/ImSix.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-zlXzidFieik/UnIoZ7j-dNI/AAAAAAAADIc/nLcY0zcDzIk/s320/ImSix.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
And yesterday I cut tons of pumpkin cupcake wrappers for Halloween parties. You can find them in the October 2013 issue of Cricut Magazine in the Spooky Treats section. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ssX8ONToZs4/UnIv4vvbidI/AAAAAAAADJc/L0P-XvcUIyg/s1600/CRI_oct_cover-150x200.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ssX8ONToZs4/UnIv4vvbidI/AAAAAAAADJc/L0P-XvcUIyg/s1600/CRI_oct_cover-150x200.jpg" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Have a safe and Happy Halloween!</div>

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!!!<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My goal for today was to actually post a little scrappy to my blog and so here it is. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
So Valentine's Day brought me this! Jason had noticed that I had been suddenly using my Cricut Create like crazy and so...the big one! I have had a ball with this!! I know, many many people have jumped to the Silhouette but I have so many cartridges already AND I had never really learned to use my Cricut to its full potential. Wow. A few YouTube videos and I was off and running. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I whipped up a quick Valentine's banner using a variety of carts and the Cricut Craft Room.Once I had the TONS of hearts cut out in a manner of minute I simply layered them and then sewed the together right down their little middles. Although the photo shows them all dangling together by thread I did actually cup them apart. Then I punched a hole on each side of each heart and strung some for real using red and white baker's twine from Maya Road. Maya Road's twine is a little thicker than most so it is perfect for hanging a banner.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I used the leftover's to make this sweet little bouquet. Just attached them to a bamboo skewer with some adhesive and another heart on the back! Simple. In just under an hour I had it all done and up!</div>

This took a little longer. More on cupcakes in my next post!</div>

Fall fun is in full swing around my house. Yesterday I carved a couple "leg" holes out of the back Jason's Jack-o-Lantern and took these fun shots of my sweet baby girl.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-i3hKGPD0xo8/UJLP702IcnI/AAAAAAAAC-4/mEKRhBPDB00/s1600/Pumpkinshot.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-i3hKGPD0xo8/UJLP702IcnI/AAAAAAAAC-4/mEKRhBPDB00/s400/Pumpkinshot.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
Here is what his Jack-o-Lantern looked like AFTER I was done, ahem, altering it. See, you can hardly see the line in the back where I plugged the pumpkin back up. You might even have to click on the photo to make it larger:)<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QYWRY_HLiOg/UJLXLRqtwcI/AAAAAAAADAg/cl1e6bsav6c/s1600/IMG_3574.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QYWRY_HLiOg/UJLXLRqtwcI/AAAAAAAADAg/cl1e6bsav6c/s400/IMG_3574.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Remember way back...her very first photo from the womb where it looked just like she was waving? </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HbU2XSjMVDc/UJLSgCckfrI/AAAAAAAAC_Y/1Ypzeu6V8bE/s1600/babygirl.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="275" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-HbU2XSjMVDc/UJLSgCckfrI/AAAAAAAAC_Y/1Ypzeu6V8bE/s320/babygirl.jpg" width="320" /> </a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Well, she must have been because she has been waving ever since;)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UmngulGIQbc/UJLP-VovVOI/AAAAAAAAC_A/LkDlWN1SDq8/s1600/pumpkinwave.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UmngulGIQbc/UJLP-VovVOI/AAAAAAAAC_A/LkDlWN1SDq8/s400/pumpkinwave.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Of course, the shoot didn't start out so sweet. When I first put her in the pumpkin she looked like this:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rbr0aWpxwrE/UJLP_39RPAI/AAAAAAAAC_I/Xbftzm_0I5U/s1600/pumpkiniscold.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-rbr0aWpxwrE/UJLP_39RPAI/AAAAAAAAC_I/Xbftzm_0I5U/s400/pumpkiniscold.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Guess I can't blame her. Cold, wet, slimy pumpkin...</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
*********************</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As I try to do every year, I made all the Halloween costumes. Used yards and yards and yards of felt. The kids decided to be Angry Birds. The baby had to be our traditional pumpkin (the little pumpkin costume was the first costume I ever made, way back for Nikolas' first Halloween) and we decided she would look enough like the orange Angry Bird that she'd fit in. Actually I copied my design for the pumpkin costume for all the Angry Birds except the yellow bird. I got in a rhythm and cranked them all out in a day...or so.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">

Jason even wanted to play along!<br />

I am enjoying the new baby soooooo much that I really can't spend a single moment without her. As a matter of fact, I NEVER leave her. I just don't want to. She is so sweet and bubbly, she smiles at everyone and she absolutely loves to be held. She laughs and twinkles her eyes at you until you just HAVE to pick her up. I don't want to spend one minute away from her so I just...don't. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Spring has sprung around here and so fast that I had to rush out and shoot all kinds of photos! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Ready for some cuteness?</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QJASXdj9n-c/T4wlBmcyaEI/AAAAAAAAC9Y/gaAkLIULY5Q/s1600/c8.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-QJASXdj9n-c/T4wlBmcyaEI/AAAAAAAAC9Y/gaAkLIULY5Q/s400/c8.jpg" width="266" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I had so much fun hauling her all over the yard to take all these cheesy but oh-so-cute photos. Here are just a couple more;)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fEfErM9v0zU/T4wlAd52gzI/AAAAAAAAC9Q/RIedFOUqCfg/s1600/c7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fEfErM9v0zU/T4wlAd52gzI/AAAAAAAAC9Q/RIedFOUqCfg/s400/c7.jpg" width="266" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">And then she "said" she'd had enough;)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Jjtj4Fpu0KQ/T4wvNp--mZI/AAAAAAAAC-o/1LgXBAjn3lE/s1600/ccc.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Jjtj4Fpu0KQ/T4wvNp--mZI/AAAAAAAAC-o/1LgXBAjn3lE/s400/ccc.jpg" width="266" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">So I grabbed the older girls:)</div><div style="text-align: center;">Recent photography lessons have me really playing with aperture, which is super FUN!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--X7AiA91-Ao/T4wk8enDXVI/AAAAAAAAC8g/fgoUCc5xIZg/s1600/c1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/--X7AiA91-Ao/T4wk8enDXVI/AAAAAAAAC8g/fgoUCc5xIZg/s400/c1.jpg" width="266" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">And then there was EASTER! Egg coloring is always a family favorite! Mr. Multi-Tasker proves I'm not the only baby hog around! He was just lucky to snatch her from daddy, who also tends to sit around with the baby, just because he wants to too:)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j8pXcHeI9pY/T4wk_Ea_LDI/AAAAAAAAC9A/yxAHgDrkxr0/s1600/c5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="256" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-j8pXcHeI9pY/T4wk_Ea_LDI/AAAAAAAAC9A/yxAHgDrkxr0/s400/c5.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

He just put the egg right on the table and spooned the dye over the egg! Lucky for me I saw it pretty quick so the mess was minimal;)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

As for the scrappy side of life, not much action there but I do have <span style="font-size: x-large;">3</span> projects in the current issue of <u>Scrapbooking, Cards and Stationary</u> magazine. Mostly I have been sewing baby blankets, altering burp cloths, *thinking* about making a couple little dresses and of course snuggling the day away with my little bundle of joy. Scrapping can definitely wait;) <br />
<br />
Happy Spring!<br />

</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">We are <span style="font-size: x-large;">thrilled</span> to have our newest little <span style="font-size: x-large;">angel</span> to hold in our arms. And I do mean OUR arms. The sweet thing is passed around and around <span style="font-size: large;">and</span> there is usually a LINE to hold her. I have even witnessed my kids FIGHTING over "getting" to change her diaper! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I can honestly say that I have never been happier having a new baby...maybe it's because I'm <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: x-small;">old</span> enough to have grandchildren;) I've heard being a grandparent is even better than having children but I doubt that~at least for me...I'm one <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">happy</span> mommy:D</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Not that I'm biased, but she is incredibly <span style="font-size: large;">beautiful</span> ~not a stork bite in sight;). </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AjqAlsxicBo/Tsu9AINW5oI/AAAAAAAAC7w/50YdSDPsnwM/s1600/IMG_4702w.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-AjqAlsxicBo/Tsu9AINW5oI/AAAAAAAAC7w/50YdSDPsnwM/s400/IMG_4702w.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">AND she is a <span style="font-size: x-large;">HUGE </span>smiler, already!!! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-b7GEbVBFx2M/Tsu9Dt_povI/AAAAAAAAC74/Q-WZS1WhNLk/s1600/IMG_4721.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-b7GEbVBFx2M/Tsu9Dt_povI/AAAAAAAAC74/Q-WZS1WhNLk/s400/IMG_4721.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I've taken HUNDREDS of photos of her already. Yes, really. I'm just wrapping up my second photography class in as many months and I'm determined to overcompensate for the remote possibility that the other kiddos could have more baby pictures. These photos were all taken at the hospital <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">without </span>a flash!!! So excited that I know how to do that now!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<img border="0" height="198" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ax8LAQdy7Zg/TkEztrer36I/AAAAAAAAC4w/qQXZNIJeKzo/s400/coleman.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Last summer we hopped in the minivan and drove south to Huntsville, Alabama to visit the U.S. Space and Rocket Center. It was a day of fun, family and <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">LOTS</span> of photo opportunities. So when I received my July Scrapbook Circle Kit in the mail {THANKS mom!} and found it filled with October Afternoon Rocket Days, I knew just which photos to print. I used a sketch from Cheri over at <a href="http://www.letsscrap.ning.com/">Let's Scrap</a> to get me started.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qEWrXJ7-ODk/TkEzjp86kzI/AAAAAAAAC4g/ER4rN-KmZB4/s1600/HuntsvilleP1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-qEWrXJ7-ODk/TkEzjp86kzI/AAAAAAAAC4g/ER4rN-KmZB4/s400/HuntsvilleP1.jpg" width="398" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Not too often that I pose for a cheesy photo but every now and then it happens;). I just love all the fun ephemera included in the kit, where else would I find rocket suit trading cards or tickets to the moon?!? </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I misted the Bazzill borders with sunshine Glimmermist and added baker's twine and ric rack to the already full to the brim kit. I also added <span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #cc0000; font-size: large;">RED</span> microbeads to the star...more on that below;).</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fftRKS3I0LA/TkEzi1SGfpI/AAAAAAAAC4c/GwlA5rs30i0/s1600/HunstvillePage2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-fftRKS3I0LA/TkEzi1SGfpI/AAAAAAAAC4c/GwlA5rs30i0/s400/HunstvillePage2.jpg" width="395" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I had lots of fun painting and then distressing the little chipboard rocket. When I started off playing with it, I didn't really intend for it to land on the layout but by the time it was finished I was so happy with it that I just had to find it a spot.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ID1MvOvJiOE/TkEzmevJ5GI/AAAAAAAAC4o/aBw7RARyqWU/s1600/Rocket.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ID1MvOvJiOE/TkEzmevJ5GI/AAAAAAAAC4o/aBw7RARyqWU/s400/Rocket.jpg" width="325" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5h1yKaMbSug/TkEzkDpoHSI/AAAAAAAAC4k/i1w5CVpL0tM/s1600/Flag.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-5h1yKaMbSug/TkEzkDpoHSI/AAAAAAAAC4k/i1w5CVpL0tM/s400/Flag.jpg" width="331" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I love flags, especially itty bitty ones flying on toothpicks so I had to add one of those as well.</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UQqfG1pglbc/TkEznokXCSI/AAAAAAAAC4s/mnJ1jn9XDDg/s1600/Star.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UQqfG1pglbc/TkEznokXCSI/AAAAAAAAC4s/mnJ1jn9XDDg/s400/Star.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">*******************************</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Now for the quick and easy <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">microbeads</span>: messy but so much fun...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-C6JpP3Lq3Qk/Tnd2ere21SI/AAAAAAAAC6I/_ZxZKeelWOU/s1600/H.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-C6JpP3Lq3Qk/Tnd2ere21SI/AAAAAAAAC6I/_ZxZKeelWOU/s320/H.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Grab a glitter tray, your chipboard (or whatever material you'd like) and a vial of microbeads</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-L6qOtUXgqnk/Tnd2fE3sawI/AAAAAAAAC6M/royVnsD-27w/s1600/H1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-L6qOtUXgqnk/Tnd2fE3sawI/AAAAAAAAC6M/royVnsD-27w/s320/H1.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> Next, cover your chipboard with PLENTY of adhesive. I just used my Xyron- it is quick, easy and relatively mess free. You can use a variety of different adhesives here and lots of people use a wet glue but I find working with a wet glue to be difficult as I always seem to end up with big clumps of microbeads both on and off my chipboard.<br />
<br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QZuQrCsLgwY/Tnd2f1wqHTI/AAAAAAAAC6Q/Vl8u-c5SA_k/s1600/H3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QZuQrCsLgwY/Tnd2f1wqHTI/AAAAAAAAC6Q/Vl8u-c5SA_k/s320/H3.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> Once you have your chipboard COMPLETELY covered with adhesive, poor the microbeads right over the top. Make sure you cover your chipboard well. Then press down on the beads just to make sure they get good and stuck. This is one of my favorite steps;)</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-p4ektM8zsmg/Tnd2gtdIhoI/AAAAAAAAC6U/v_77ziS4r9g/s1600/H4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-p4ektM8zsmg/Tnd2gtdIhoI/AAAAAAAAC6U/v_77ziS4r9g/s320/H4.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I shake my tray gently to find my chipboard piece and then I carefully remove the chipboard and poor the microbeads right back into the vial. Next I push and poke the microbeads around until they are all exactly where I want them. After all the baeds are in place it is really important to seal the microbeads onto your surface. For this I use Glossy Accents. LET IT DRY completely, you all know what happens if you don't...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Happy Scrapping,</div><a href="http://www.mylivesignature.com/" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;" target="_blank"><img src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54487/350/D53B1A17D0B39BC4C5A6910CBEDC6563.png" style="background-color: transparent; border-width: 0px ! important;" /></a>Kristiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04527785228545086382noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5711728719589561718.post-70891633700854674842011-08-19T09:11:00.001-05:002011-08-19T10:38:02.841-05:00Oregon Trip Highlights, Part 1<div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">July 2011</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><br />

I must go from enjoying a cooked "just for me by my sweet 14 year old son" lunch to making <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">5 sack lunches</span> and sending off all my dear kiddos. I am <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">more</span> than a little sad to see summer slip away, it seemed shorter than ever this year. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">So, when my turn came up to post a challenge for the <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://www.kitchenkeepsake.com/">KITCHEN</a></span>, I knew this would be the perfect time to focus on lunch. We'd love to have you come on over and <a href="http://www.kitchenkeepsake.com/">join us!</a> Here is the sample layout that I created for the challenge:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bdAxZycKPrE/TjWrBZLWsiI/AAAAAAAAC4U/nXaAfXvS8WY/s1600/What%2527sCooking.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bdAxZycKPrE/TjWrBZLWsiI/AAAAAAAAC4U/nXaAfXvS8WY/s400/What%2527sCooking.jpg" width="396" /></a></div><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I used lots of the Savor line from Little Yellow Bicycle but the background is from October Afternoon. My favorite lunch lately is the panini, and let me just say, my son has perfected the art of creating them! I kept the layout clean and simple but couldn't resist adding just a bit of dimension:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Xz2vkPILgmk/TjWrCUZYzQI/AAAAAAAAC4Y/owoXsXemaMw/s1600/What%2527sCookingD.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-Xz2vkPILgmk/TjWrCUZYzQI/AAAAAAAAC4Y/owoXsXemaMw/s400/What%2527sCookingD.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">The star is Maya Road chipboard that I inked a bit and then backed with some LYB paper. I punched the paper into a star shape with my old Creative Memories punch and then just had to trim it ever so slightly and glue it into place. The dimensional heart embellishment is made with more LYB papers and some Nestabilities dies.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">*******************************</div><div style="text-align: center;">I am STILL working on sorting through my <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">hundreds</span> of photos from our Oregon trip but I am getting close! Here is a preview of the kids at the coast:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1XyjZXiV8f0/TjWo9-XbTiI/AAAAAAAAC4Q/Y6FmoES6oac/s1600/IMG_0644.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1XyjZXiV8f0/TjWo9-XbTiI/AAAAAAAAC4Q/Y6FmoES6oac/s400/IMG_0644.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"> Look for the rest of them in just a few days...I hope;) </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;">So now my kids have gotten into a "submit one with me" contest. I have been working on so many layouts of the younger two that most of my published layouts include them but FOR the RECORD, <span style="font-size: large;">everyone</span> has been in at least one of my paper published layouts. This month's Hobby Lobby Idea Magazine, Stamping, Stationary and<span style="font-size: large;"> Scrapbooking</span> includes three of my layouts and yes, <span style="font-size: large;">all three</span> are of the two younger kids. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QmIpdNlK9Ig/ThWxb1nEuxI/AAAAAAAAC3s/mn72EY9j6o0/s1600/HL1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="278" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-QmIpdNlK9Ig/ThWxb1nEuxI/AAAAAAAAC3s/mn72EY9j6o0/s400/HL1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5TgD7h-r4Jo/ThWxcm948fI/AAAAAAAAC3w/sUJzqWTPYE8/s1600/HL2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="272" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-5TgD7h-r4Jo/ThWxcm948fI/AAAAAAAAC3w/sUJzqWTPYE8/s400/HL2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VEz2kBgFvVk/ThWxdn2EnII/AAAAAAAAC30/hCM3eSznzKE/s1600/HL3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="271" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-VEz2kBgFvVk/ThWxdn2EnII/AAAAAAAAC30/hCM3eSznzKE/s400/HL3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"> HOWever, my first three kiddos have <span style="font-size: x-large;">many</span> more completed albums and tons more layouts in those albums. That is because their albums were done back when my focus was more on the photos (and on scrapping chronologically) and less on the artistic process. My goal is to find a nice blend of the two:) Suggestions welcome!<br />
<br />
We are gearing up for <span style="font-size: large;">school</span>, I canNOT believe my "baby" is starting high school next week! I was looking back through his scrapbooks this week and I am so thankful for them. Time really does fly by so quickly and it becomes hard to remember all the little details. Scrapbooks keep them safe and handy...and pretty!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: left;">Happy Scrapping,</div><a href="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54487/350/D53B1A17D0B39BC4C5A6910CBEDC6563.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://signatures.mylivesignature.com/54487/350/D53B1A17D0B39BC4C5A6910CBEDC6563.png" style="background: none repeat scroll 0% 0% transparent; border: 0pt none ! important;" /></a>Kristiehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04527785228545086382noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5711728719589561718.post-57833429429195406552011-07-18T17:57:00.001-05:002011-07-18T17:58:02.580-05:00Scrap-a-Little Guest Designer<div style="text-align: center;"> <a href="http://www.scrap-a-little.com/">Helen Croft</a>, papercrafter extraordinaire, was kind enough to ask me to guest design for her!!!<br />
She sent me her latest, <span style="font-size: large;">greatest </span>sketch to work with:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-z5jY0bFRMSI/TfjJ02zlhKI/AAAAAAAAC3k/x_5QomcDx6k/s1600/sketch50.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-z5jY0bFRMSI/TfjJ02zlhKI/AAAAAAAAC3k/x_5QomcDx6k/s320/sketch50.jpg" width="320" /></a></div></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">And here is what I came up with:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ou6tGNy9iEc/Te-ieO1AahI/AAAAAAAAC3Y/ZZukpCMyAxA/s1600/MyTrike.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ou6tGNy9iEc/Te-ieO1AahI/AAAAAAAAC3Y/ZZukpCMyAxA/s400/MyTrike.jpg" width="397" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">I used a stack of adorable We R Memory Keepers for this layout plus a bunch of punches! The big ticket and star pin are Maya Road and the memo pin is Tim Holtz. I used an old piece of blue ribbon to tie onto the pin but it was too bright so I just hit it with some distress ink and voila! I can see myself using this sketch a gazillion times...sideways, this way & reversed, thanks Helen!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I just don't know how Helen comes up with great sketches month after month, she truly amazes me. If you haven't had the chance to check our her gallery of sketches click <a href="http://www.scrap-a-little-sketches.com/">here</a>.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I did a little bonus layout for her based on sketch 49:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Bf4LpmiXjNE/Te-hj5hdl3I/AAAAAAAAC3U/wgQf2gu2buU/s1600/sketch_49%252Bcopy.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Bf4LpmiXjNE/Te-hj5hdl3I/AAAAAAAAC3U/wgQf2gu2buU/s320/sketch_49%252Bcopy.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-V-Yeii5Kx0E/Te-dALSfaOI/AAAAAAAAC3I/15azuXZT1iY/s1600/Halfacake.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="396" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-V-Yeii5Kx0E/Te-dALSfaOI/AAAAAAAAC3I/15azuXZT1iY/s400/Halfacake.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> I used some great old Sassafras from my stash for this one. Lots of fun layers and stickers and stitching. I am on a use what I have kick and that is actually making scrapping pretty fun, a bit of a challenge and I do miss the shopping and the NEW stuff but quite honestly, my scraproom is FULL!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LkqGXeYHfhI/Te-dDybvjLI/AAAAAAAAC3M/Lrf17sXZg5o/s1600/halfacakej.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-LkqGXeYHfhI/Te-dDybvjLI/AAAAAAAAC3M/Lrf17sXZg5o/s400/halfacakej.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">Back when we only had three children I began a tradition of celebrating half birthdays. It seemed like a GREAT idea at the time...two kids had January birthdays and my energy for celebrating is a little lacking at that time of year...so the half birthday idea was born. I keep it pretty simple really, just half a cake and one present. Well, it <span style="font-size: x-large;">was</span> pretty simple until our family grew and grew and grew and now we have a half birthday, a real birthday, and/or a holiday constantly it seems. Sigh. I do LOVE to scrap the half birthdays though!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--5Fb3AS4ABc/Te-dGKcCZEI/AAAAAAAAC3Q/A2zTGv1sUk4/s1600/HalfCakebanner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="250" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--5Fb3AS4ABc/Te-dGKcCZEI/AAAAAAAAC3Q/A2zTGv1sUk4/s400/HalfCakebanner.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> I used my Papertrey Ink banner dies for these but they were too long and just looked funny to me so I altered them with a pair of scissors and got just the look I was going for. I strung a bit of Karen Foster floss through them and that made it so much easier to place on the page. I had always placed each individual letter first but that made it difficult to get that "hanging" look. Definitely worth the time to pierce holes and string floss first!<br />

</div><div style="text-align: center;"><i><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">~I want to extend a heartfelt thanks to those of you who have sent me sweet inquiries as to where in the world I disappeared to for the last couple three months. I really appreciate you all checking on me...the morning sickness was <span style="font-size: large;">super awful</span> this time and I am just now getting back to some bit of normalcy, as normal as one can get at home for the summer with 5 kiddos~</span></i></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"> I have even gotten back to a <span style="font-size: x-small;">bit</span> of scrapping...just a <span style="font-size: x-small;">wee</span> bit. We are heading out to Oregon shortly to visit lots and lots of relatives. My in-laws are <span style="font-size: large;">VERY</span> kindly putting us up at their house and with <span style="font-size: large;">7 1/2</span> of us, that's quite a sacrifice! So I am taking along a little token of my appreciation:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8C_Ze9NEamE/ThWyriIbI8I/AAAAAAAAC38/sOTOVIUrJto/s1600/Gift.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8C_Ze9NEamE/ThWyriIbI8I/AAAAAAAAC38/sOTOVIUrJto/s400/Gift.jpg" width="381" /></a></div></div><div style="text-align: center;">I used the <span style="font-size: large;">Earth Love</span> line by <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Cosmo-Cricket-Scrapbook-Crafting-12-Inch/dp/B002JPD73Q/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=arts-crafts&qid=1310072072&sr=8-1">Cosmo Cricket</a> for this ATC tray. My in-laws live in Eugene, Oregon so what other line works better than this?!?! I have a few bits and bobs from other lines and manufacturers (Maya Road, Prima, Tim Holtz, Cookbookin') scattered throughout as well. This was such a fun project to put together, I hope they like it!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ndI40fA0uA4/ThW0ZMQUpCI/AAAAAAAAC4A/e3d45ik0LpU/s1600/inProgress.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ndI40fA0uA4/ThW0ZMQUpCI/AAAAAAAAC4A/e3d45ik0LpU/s400/inProgress.jpg" width="400" /></a></div></div><div style="text-align: center;">Here is a progress shot just before my oldest son vetoed his photo...I thought it was perfect: teenager in mall, texting away (middle row, first slot) but he said he wanted a soccer shot and that is, really, much more appropriate. I adore that he likes to look at my work and helps with great suggestions and ideas. When I put these trays together they spend hours flat while I move all the pieces around. Then I take the plunge by adhering the backgrounds. Then there is another round of moving the pieces all over the place. Once I get the photos or main memorabilia adhered I move on to embellishing, my very favorite part of the entire process. I can embellish these for weeks! Eventually I call them "finished." </div><div style="text-align: center;">**************************</div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"> I also managed to eeek out this recipe layout for the <a href="http://www.kitchenkeepsake.com/">Kitchen</a>:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: center;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mKXwqVQWU3Q/ThW1uK0fypI/AAAAAAAAC4E/Xaw4GiHiH6w/s1600/PotatoSoup.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="313" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-mKXwqVQWU3Q/ThW1uK0fypI/AAAAAAAAC4E/Xaw4GiHiH6w/s400/PotatoSoup.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>This soup recipe is so yummy and so not for summer but it took quite a while for the heat to hit this year in the south. As a matter of fact, our friendly little cicadas were a few weeks late themselves. More on them later!<br />

Milk NEVER has a chance to turn green in our fridge. The only time we have green milk around is when the Leprechaun's pay us a visit each March;).</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-E6eLc0fGrRc/TYyYqBDtwcI/AAAAAAAAC2o/owfzlrat-5s/s1600/greenmilk.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-E6eLc0fGrRc/TYyYqBDtwcI/AAAAAAAAC2o/owfzlrat-5s/s400/greenmilk.jpg" width="395" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">I used some Little Yellow Bicycle papers that I have been hoarding for this layout. I just KNEW they would eventually come in handy. My layout is based on this week's sketch up at Let's Scrap:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-3v6UKuHvMBU/TYycMEugi4I/AAAAAAAAC20/rFfhTBxeWTg/s1600/32311.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-3v6UKuHvMBU/TYycMEugi4I/AAAAAAAAC20/rFfhTBxeWTg/s400/32311.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;">I know!</span> I kinda went a bit my own way. My layout really did start with the left side of the sketch! Ah well, there are those times that I follow sketches quite closely and there are these times when I start with a sketch but by the time I finish creating my layout the sketch is hardly recognizable. When I added my layout to the design team gallery, I thought they might just reject it but they didn't. It is up there on the main page at <a href="http://www.letsscrap.ning.com/">Let's Scrap</a>;).</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-rocH4yWMaQA/TYyYrsGQCHI/AAAAAAAAC2s/5XuRKYuKaBk/s1600/GM1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="253" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-rocH4yWMaQA/TYyYrsGQCHI/AAAAAAAAC2s/5XuRKYuKaBk/s400/GM1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I broke out of my white thread mold on this one and used some black thread to stitch my rick rack on and to stitch together my large hearts. Then I used mini-staples {Tim Holtz} to attach my journaling strips and my small hearts. That big scrappy flower...that is just what it is, a bunch of scraps that I trimmed from my mats and they all fell in a pile and voila, an embellishment!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-qCmiQ6egwN4/TYyYsAmGr6I/AAAAAAAAC2w/n12Is1z4mL4/s1600/GM2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-qCmiQ6egwN4/TYyYsAmGr6I/AAAAAAAAC2w/n12Is1z4mL4/s320/GM2.jpg" width="254" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I added the Maya Road pins to my scrappy flower just because I thought they looked good with this Making Memories metal frame that I used around his tiny hands clutching his little glass of green milk.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;">****************</div><div style="text-align: center;">Let's Scrap is having a <span style="font-size: x-large;">Design Team Call</span>! Here is the sketch to use if you'd like to apply. Details on the call can be found <a href="http://www.letsscrap.ning.com/">here</a>. We'd LOVE to have <span style="font-size: large;">YOU</span> apply. Good luck!</div><br />

I seriously canNOT believe it is March 1!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">We've had an interesting couple of weeks here at the Coleman camp...baby bear "bwoke his wittle foot" on February 15th. Actually he really smashed his toes to bits after accidentally pulling the kitchen table bench over but there <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">was</span> a slight fracture in the foot. Then, the very next morning, his sister was diagnosed with the flu. I don't know what clued me in...perhaps her temperature of <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">105*!!!</span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"></span>All is well now though. We got her Tamiflu within 24 hours of the fever starting and would you know...it knocked that flu right out! Fever was GONE within 12 hours of the first dose and she NEVER developed any respiratory symptoms at all. AND since I isolated her before anyone else got home, NO ONE else in our rather LARGE family contracted the nasty virus. Oh, yeah, she DID have the flu vaccine this year, oh well.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"> ******************</div><div style="text-align: center;">So I actually <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">have</span> been finding a tiny bit of scrappy time here and there. First up is this Snow Day layout. This is one of those really satisfying layouts...I thoroughly enjoyed every step of creating this project from photography to that last little snowflake detail. I am still really loving working with GCD's line, Joyful Peace. Even though it is technically a Holiday line I am loving it for a variety of projects. Some of the other bit and pieces on this layout include lace from an MCS kit, chipboard snowflakes from a Swirlydoos kit and lots of Prima. I used three MS punches to create some of my own snowflakes from the GCD papers. The title is cut with my Cricut using the Songbird cart. LOVE that cart!!!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-87IAae34Eo8/TW1KBx4fyqI/AAAAAAAAC2M/kv6BtJ-qBvw/s1600/SnowDayLadder.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="331" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-87IAae34Eo8/TW1KBx4fyqI/AAAAAAAAC2M/kv6BtJ-qBvw/s400/SnowDayLadder.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-b39Mq6cuekY/TW1J9D7pmJI/AAAAAAAAC2I/MfTk5pmW3Fw/s1600/SnowDayGCDtilt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="318" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-b39Mq6cuekY/TW1J9D7pmJI/AAAAAAAAC2I/MfTk5pmW3Fw/s400/SnowDayGCDtilt.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">*********************</div><div style="text-align: center;">I also have a new challenge up at <a href="http://www.kitchenkeepsake.com/">Kitchen Keepsake</a>. It is a VERY simple challenge: <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">use a banner on a recipe layout</span>. Sound a little familiar? I am just called to put banners everywhere these days. They are so much fun to create and they add such a playful touch to both layouts and cards and my mantle and the dining room chandelier and...and...here is my example:</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-e-Fk5_Af31A/TW1KO0o1JcI/AAAAAAAAC2Q/sXXmrhOfF2I/s1600/MEXSPAG.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="303" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-e-Fk5_Af31A/TW1KO0o1JcI/AAAAAAAAC2Q/sXXmrhOfF2I/s400/MEXSPAG.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">The papers are from the <a href="http://store.scrapbook.com/collection-brand/gourmet+holiday-pjk+designs.html">Gourmet Holiday</a> line by <a href="http://www.cookbookin.com/">Cookbookin'</a> and the recipe is from my dear friend Shannon who has really been helping build up my stash of family friendly dinners. Just click on the image if you'd like to try the recipe yourself;).</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">*********************</div><div style="text-align: center;">This last weekend was lots of fun...I got to dance with my darling son at his <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Grand Cotillion Ball. <span style="font-size: small;">Yeah, no, he did not have the time of his life.</span></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-tACi7Y3gThU/TW1LLKKmxdI/AAAAAAAAC2g/lWaBOwcr5Pc/s1600/KG.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-tACi7Y3gThU/TW1LLKKmxdI/AAAAAAAAC2g/lWaBOwcr5Pc/s400/KG.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">But he was soooo the sharpest looking guy at the ball!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-u_8QeK3pSX4/TW1KxkUmpNI/AAAAAAAAC2U/3LOF22uWaw0/s1600/Gcotillion.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-u_8QeK3pSX4/TW1KxkUmpNI/AAAAAAAAC2U/3LOF22uWaw0/s400/Gcotillion.jpg" width="266" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

I could blame it all on <span style="font-size: x-large;">Santa</span>, who picked <span style="font-size: large;">this</span> year to bring all the kids sleds for Christmas but that wouldn't explain the storms that hit BEFORE Christmas. I <span style="font-size: large;">think</span> the storms are over. Today was <span style="font-size: large;">sunny</span> and in the mid-50's and it is supposed to go up from there all week. I know, I know it is only the middle of February. So guess what I have been scrapping lately? That's right, I have about 265,000 snow photos from this winter and here are just a few in a new layout based on this week's sketch over at <a href="http://www.letsscrap.ning.com/">Let's Scrap</a>.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

This card is super easy and <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">fun</span> to make. Here is how I made mine.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xaQt7BW7kIk/TVFx60TGTHI/AAAAAAAAC0U/sswwqOKBGOE/s1600/xo1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xaQt7BW7kIk/TVFx60TGTHI/AAAAAAAAC0U/sswwqOKBGOE/s400/xo1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> Cut TWO double sided pieces of pattened paper 5 - 1/2 inches by 8 - 1/2 inches.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xaQt7BW7kIk/TVFx7v2qVNI/AAAAAAAAC0Y/Q8MR25yEozI/s1600/xo2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xaQt7BW7kIk/TVFx7v2qVNI/AAAAAAAAC0Y/Q8MR25yEozI/s400/xo2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> Fold one paper in half like a traditional card.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xaQt7BW7kIk/TVFx9PucGDI/AAAAAAAAC0c/qgBtfp03puo/s1600/xo3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xaQt7BW7kIk/TVFx9PucGDI/AAAAAAAAC0c/qgBtfp03puo/s400/xo3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> Fold the other paper into a <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">W</span> shape.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xaQt7BW7kIk/TVF0aGp6t6I/AAAAAAAAC1Y/XykHHDoEZl0/s1600/xo4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xaQt7BW7kIk/TVF0aGp6t6I/AAAAAAAAC1Y/XykHHDoEZl0/s400/xo4.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;">I used a scalloped heart Nestability and ran it through my Sizzix to cut out my heart.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xaQt7BW7kIk/TVFx-TpGNqI/AAAAAAAAC0k/HKtDG23b1Vg/s1600/xo5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_xaQt7BW7kIk/TVFx-TpGNqI/AAAAAAAAC0k/HKtDG23b1Vg/s400/xo5.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> Because the paper was folded, the heart has a big <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">ugly</span> fold right down the middle:(.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xaQt7BW7kIk/TVFx-85DCqI/AAAAAAAAC0o/1e_Z8bj1q7o/s1600/xo6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xaQt7BW7kIk/TVFx-85DCqI/AAAAAAAAC0o/1e_Z8bj1q7o/s400/xo6.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> So I embossed that fold right out!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xaQt7BW7kIk/TVFx_ng61kI/AAAAAAAAC0s/xvfyba9ZN6w/s1600/xo7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xaQt7BW7kIk/TVFx_ng61kI/AAAAAAAAC0s/xvfyba9ZN6w/s400/xo7.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"> <span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;">Love</span> how pretty this looks!!! We have tons of fun, inspiration, challenges, and prizes planned!! And the best part is, we're hopping for an entire month!! That's right, the blog hop begins today and goes through Feb.14th, so you'll have plenty of time to work on the challenges! </div></div><div class="post-body entry-content"><div style="text-align: center;">You should have joined me from Roulien's incredible blog but if you didn't you can find a list at the end of this post to help you find your way. Each stop on the hop will offer you a different resolution, or challenge. Become a follower of each Design Team Member's blog and as you complete each challenge, upload your finished project to the <a href="http://letsscrap.ning.com/">Let's Scrap</a> gallery. Return to each blog and make sure to leave a comment letting us know that you have completed the challenge and uploaded it to Let's Scrap. Make sure you tag each of your projects with the appropriate tag (you will find those instructions on each of our blogs-ie: resolution#1, resolution#2 etc.). </div><div style="text-align: center;">Each Design Team member will randomly select a winner of a small prize for participating. For the ULTIMATE challenge, and for a chance to win a fabulous prize from Cosmo Cricket, complete the challenges you will find on EACH and EVERY stop on the blog hop. Make sure to tag your uploads properly so you are sure to be entered into the random drawing.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">You can start anywhere along the way within this great group of blogs and each one will link from one site to the next where you will find all of the great challenges! And the best part is you have four weeks to upload your challenge entries. Even if you don't win the grand prize, if you choose to complete all the challenges available, you will have 15 completed projects!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: large;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">*************************</span></span></div><div style="color: #0b5394;"><div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: large;"><b>So, you are at Resolution#7 on the Hoppy New Year Blog Hop. And GOOD LUCK in all the drawings;)</div></div><div class="post-body entry-content"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #3333ff;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; color: black; font-family: arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"></span></span></span></span></div><div class="post-body entry-content"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: #3333ff;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="border-collapse: collapse; color: black; font-family: arial,sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: xx-small;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #e06666;"></span></span></span></span></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">For my example I did a layout about my "word" for the year: FOCUS.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xaQt7BW7kIk/TTBOajn_OHI/AAAAAAAACz0/NoYVXzjxDNo/s1600/FOCUS.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_xaQt7BW7kIk/TTBOajn_OHI/AAAAAAAACz0/NoYVXzjxDNo/s400/FOCUS.jpg" width="393" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Back at the end of December I had started making some New Year's Resolutions...you know, all the typical resolutions...save money, exercise, spend more time with those that I love, lose weight. You know...those resolutions that you fail to keep, the ones that cause you to feel guilty and the ones that you forget all about by March? I decided to skip that process and to just go with a single word, one little word, to concentrate on for the year. Ali Edwards talks a lot about this idea on <a href="http://aliedwards.com/2010/12/one-little-word-2011.html#more-8036">her blog</a>. I read over my resolutions and the word FOCUS came to me right away. That is what I need to do. I need to focus on what is really and truly important <u>TO ME</u>. So I wrote myself a letter and turned it into a layout.</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I used lots of Girls' Paperie goodies. I made the banner using some banner dies, Prima letters inked to pink and jute. This photo. Not the best of me certainly but it is the very first photo taken of me in 2011. It is about 12:15, just after we walked home from the New Year's Eve party we attended across the street. DS1 took the photo and I am<span style="font-size: x-large;"> not</span> in focus. I love that. Perfect for my whole focus focus;). I had chosen the word focus <span style="font-size: large;">long</span> before this photo was even taken. I have never been so tickled to have a photo NOT be in focus;). I think I'll have him take another photo of me on the last day of this year...hopefully I'll be in focus by then!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">For each of you who completes my challenge, tags it resolution#7 and loads it into the gallery at <a href="http://www.letsscrap.ning.com/">Let's Scrap</a> you will be entered into a random drawing for this fun little Amy Butler for K and Company Mini Book kit:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
