Sisters, reworked~

Look familiar? This is indeed {almost} the same layout I posted a few days ago but after looking at it for a few days, something just wasn't right. The balance was off. It sat on the easel in my scraproom and finally, it came to me. It needed a couple more flowers. I know, minor detail, but HUGE to my eye. So I created a couple of handmade flowers from some scraps of Webster's Pages papers.

Here is the before once again:

And here is a close up of the change:

So...what do you think?

***A Walk in the Snow***

Yesterday, biggest brother took littlest brother for his first walk in the forest snow...

Littlest brother really enjoyed it!!!

His eyes were full of wonder and awe.

Biggest brother enjoyed watching littlest brother...

And, of course, so did I.

I told littlest brother to pick up some snow and throw it but a leaf got stuck to his mitten...

He kept trying...and...

He did it, stuck leaf and all!

More picutres to come I'm sure. I looked out the window this morning and it looks like almost an inch fell overnight!!!

***Snow Day***

Does wearing your jammies inside out REALLY help trigger a snow day?

Apparently so!

We got a very light dusting but there were forecasts for much more so the schools were all closed.

The kids tried valiantly to make do with the few flakes that did fall.

~The big boys played football since there wasn't enough snow to sled~

The girls just looked cute and wondered what to do?

And this little cutie was THRILLED!

Until...

He realized that this was it~

I'll post some more pictures later. Wait 'til you see my sweet little snowman that G built for me...

Sand before snow, well maybe!

Just thought I'd share a quick little summery layout since it is FREEZING here! BELOW FREEZING actually. We are supposed to get snow tonight {kids have been wearing those jammies inside out all week} but we will see. Whenever the forecast calls for it...well, you know how that goes.

Anyway, this layout. I started with some plain cardstock and GlimmerMist in Bubble Gum Pink! Fun and dried in a flash since the heater is blasting.  I also used lots of yummy Sassafras papers mixed up with some Prima milk bottle flowers and more of my favorite Karen Foster floss. This is my take on sketch 85 from over at Creative Scrappers. This layout only took me about 20 minutes to complete! Aren't sketches just THE best!

Sisters

I am just loving Webster's Pages these days! This is another layout done with their papers along with some Prima flowers, Maya Road pins, a WP cameo, more trim from my MCS kit, some punched butterflies and even a couple punched birds for the feeder that I made with my new Martha Stewart punch:

This is my new favorite punch. I just love how detailed the little Cardinals come out!

I tried some paper tearing on this layout...once I had torn a bit of paper away I backed the empty area with a coordinating paper. Waaaay harder than I thought it was going to be! I am not thrilled with my result but I'm determined to try it again.

I am much happier with my border punching and flower clusters.

Kids are back to school today. Mixed feelings for me on that one... B's feelings however, are crystal clear. He cried all the way home after dropping them off. It was pitiful, he kept calling out all their names between sobs...

Wishing for SNOW!

This is NOT new snow. It is VERY old snow. TWO YEAR old snow to be exact. It is B's first look at the white stuff and he was quite less than impressed.

The layout features the gorgeous Websters Pages papers and stickers. I thoroughly enjoyed constructing this layout with all the trims and flowers which came from My Creative Scrapbook and the punched butterflies (more of that precious vintage dictionary) and pins from Maya Road. My journaling is hidden behind the green "trash" aka Prima packaging.

Love these beautiful trims!

I added some Antique Linen stickles to my flowers and butterflies. It gave the butterflies this wonderful moldable quality.

I used a gorgeous Websters Pages Cameo just above that flower. There was a tiny chip in the Cameo when it arrived so I just tucked it in behind that flower ever so slightly and voila!

If you are getting snow, enjoy! My kids are vowing to wear their pajamas backwards once school gets back in. The teachers tell them this helps bring on the snow;). And around here, a dusting gets them out of school!

Happy New Year!

Here is my first design team layout for Scrap-a-Little. I am so excited to be working with Helen Croft and the great ladies she has assembled on the team. The challenge this month is a color challenge: brown, pink and blue. You can add other colors but those must be the MAIN 3! Helen has a great prize so come on over and play with us!

*************

The kids all had great fun trying to stay up 'til midnight last night. B made it all the way until 10:30, he could have made it longer but mommy was hitting the sack so...we took the pictures a little early.

And we even popped the poppers a bit early. The kids LOVE this, except B who was a bit leary.

May you all have a happy & healthy New Year!
