~Forever Cute~

Such a cute shot captured at the beach this summer...too bad it was taken with a phone.

This layout includes lots of fun to do techniques like machine-stitching, flower folding, inking and a button tie. I am working on a tutorial for the flowers so stay tuned. Most of the papers and embellishments featured in this layout were included in the MCS August kit. The papers are My Mind's Eye, and the buttons are Bo Bunny.

Franklin Classic 5K

We all got up and out the door at the crack of dawn to watch the boys run. Finish order: G, J, N. This is before and after. Don't they look awfully good for having just run a 5K!!!

Cheering the runners on. Yippee, Grandpa's back!

The girls bounced around and around and around.

B had a blast checking out all the police cars and climbing in and on the fire truck.

All that and it's not even 9:00am.

Recital 2007

I'm finally getting around to scrapping some of the 2007 recital. I used a Julie Bonner sketch here.
These are some photos I took in the yard of J and M in their father-daughter costumes. For the layout I made a pinwheel and clustered some Prima flowers. The border is all buttons and the papers are October Afternoon. The journal block is blank for M to fill in with her own sweet memories.
This is another layout based on a sketch over at 52 sketches.

And this is C all ready for her very first dance recital! How about that headpiece!!!

~MEDIEVAL DAY~

Yesterday the third graders traveled back in time, waaaaay back in time. This incredible day was filled with crafts, activities and even food from the Medieval time period, which the third graders have been studying this year. Some of the activities included ribbon dancing, climbing the rock wall and juggling scarves. The children also had a "feast" with no forks and no napkins. That was lovely. They ended their day with bartering. Each child brought in a few trinkets with which to trade. They tried to persuade savvy traders with shouts and arm waving. I'm sure the teachers are just exhausted but I know the children had a fantastic day, one they will always remember.

Tub Time

The boy loves the tub! This layout is based on a sketch by Julie over at 52 Weeks. I just love all these little tiny buttons but it did take FOREVER to stick them all on~

Take a HIKE

We spent some much needed family time hiking around the lake this weekend. The sudden immersion into a flurry of school and after-school activities took its toll on us this week...

At the lake we saw some wonderful wildlife: turtles & birds, bugs and worms, fawns grazing with their mothers, blue herons and more. But the highlight was being followed by a group of playful otters! They were just so cute.

C walked the whole way around the entire lake! B walked a lot too but after all, he is only one.

MAMMOTH Cave

Here is the layout from our spelunking trip a couple weeks ago. I just love these big chipboard letters, so easy to sand a bit of color off for a nicely distressed look. After I distressed the letters I used some distress inks on the green CS until it looked a little less bright. I used a sketch from 2 Peas for this layout and added lots of different ribbon trims. It is a quite a departure from my normal pages but I think I like it. PPs are Kraft and Crate Paper, floss is Karen Foster.
